Transport
Many of France's airports are served by the cheap airlines, check with their websites. It is possible to get to Paris from almost anywhere in the world and an efficient rail service will transport you to most places throughout France. The TGV (Train á Grand Vitesse or high speed train) is particularly efficient. You will usually need to book for this.
French motorways are empty compared to those in Britain if you are driving out to your boat. But in some areas you may have to pay for the privilege.
In 2010 Brenda persuaded John to ignore the motorways and drive home across country, staying overnight at a chambre d'hote (B&B) found via the Tourist Office. It was a wonderful experience. We hardly saw any other traffic and arrived at the Ferry feeling very relaxed. We will certainly repeat this experience.
